About UNM

Founded in 1889 as New Mexico’s flagship institution, the University of New Mexico occupies nearly 800 acres along old Route 66 in the heart of Albuquerque. UNM is within walking distance to historic Nob Hill — which features eclectic restaurants, galleries, and shops — and minutes from the Albuquerque International Airport. UNM is also a quick walk from ABQ Ride stations, Albuquerque’s public bus system, and within close proximity to the Rail Runner station, a train that travels between Belen and Santa Fe.
